Nitric oxide is a soluble gas that is continually being made from arginine in endothelial cells. Endothelial cells comprise a layer of cells inside the lining of our blood vessels. The nitric oxide produced in endothelial cells mediates blood vessel dilation and reduces the stickiness of platelets, thereby helping to thin the blood. Nitric oxide is necessary for normal circulatory function-- including erections. Impaired synthesis or increased degradation of nitric oxide are associated with hypertension, high cholesterol, and heart failure.
Blood vessel function can be negatively affected by reduced nitric oxide and oxidative stress (also known as free radical damage) and CircuCORE features a variety of ingredients that act as antioxidants, and vasodilators.
